Oad and Boxer's holiday in England  -  Birmingham
On one of the very few fine days this Summer in the Midlands of England we took a day out to see the sites of Birmingham.
My home town has been cleaned up a lot and the natural assets of the Bull Ring and Canals used to great effect.  20.07.2007

The Council House in Victoria Square with the rebuild Town Hall Concert Arena copied from the Athena in Greece.

A short walk west brings you to the joining of the main canal systems in the UK with more canals than Venice.  During the Industrial Revolution goods were carried to London and the north of England from here by water.  Now tastefully revitalised as a huge living area and Entertainments complex on waterside.

We found a great Thai restaurant for lunch and posed for pictures on one of the many bridges.

Founding fathers are remembered and one of the many Shopping Arcades we walked through.

On another wet cold day we looked into the New Bull Ring and the Markets area.
